In this session, we will explore the art of storytelling as a means of communication, self-expression, and building empathy. We will investigate the benefits of using storytelling as an academic tool for success.
Session Two: Identity Development through Storytelling April 13 | 3:45-4:45 PM
In this session, we will discuss the importance of storytelling in the formation of an individual's identity in both academic and social environments. We will use several activities to illustrate methods of connection in the classroom and define what it means to create a safe storytelling space for all students.
Session Three: Applied Storytelling April 20 | 3:45-4:45 PM
In this session, we will examine the ways in which storytelling is already a part of the academic curriculum and identify opportunities for further integration based on grade level and area of study. We will discuss the various ways in which stories can further engage students with learning materials.
Session Four: Expansive Curriculum Planning April 27 | 3:45-4:45 PM
In this session, we will examine specific ways to integrate storytelling into the classroom and make it part of your lesson planning process. We will designate some time to construct a lesson plan specific to your learners.
